LUCILA GABRYS
President - Owner
Originally from Argentina,
Lucila completed a Bachelor degree in Tourism at the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires. Her passion for travelling led her all over the world while working as a flight attendant. Lucila decided to take a new step in her career by leaving her native country and moving to Canada. She attended the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary where she completed an exchange program in the Tourism Department and worked as a research assistant for Dr. Brent Ritchie. Her love of skiing and growing interest in the hospitality industry next saw her travel to USA where she lived in Colorado, Ohio and California while working for a variety of hotels and resorts. |
| After 2 years, she returned to Canada captured by the scenic beauty, cultural diversity, and unique history of Quebec. She selected the great city of Montreal as her home where she spent the next 5 years. Beginning by learning French and becoming a licensed tour guide at the ITHQ (Institute d’Hotelerie et Tourisme du Quebec), Lucila spent several years guiding in Montreal and Eastern Canada with tourists from all over the world during the summers. Her connection and knowledge of South America inspired her to organize her own tours to Argentina and Peru for Canadians every winter. Lucila founded The Explorers in 2009 to offer customized tours to the finest destinations in South America. In 2011, Lucila moved to Vancouver and expanded her company to offer a complete travel service covering all of South America. With over 12 years of experience in the tourism industry, Lucila has built The Explorers on a foundation of honesty, integrity and the exhilaration of adventure travel. Lucila personally visits every destination offered, guaranteeing the latest information on hotels, excursions and other activities is available

SOLEDAD BARRENECHEA
Coordinatrice du groupe en Argentine
Née dans la ville de Buenos Aires, Soledad a toujours eu une passion pour les voyages et pour découvrir de nouvelles cultures. A la fin de ses études supérieures elle est devenue hôtesse de l'air à l'âge de 18 ans. Cette expérience lui a donné la chance de connaitre des personnes dans son pays et à l'étranger et bien sûr de découvrir de nombreux nouveaux endroits en Argentine et en Amérique Latine. Extrêmement motivée et intéressée par les échanges culturels, Soledad a voyagé dans toute l'Europe, ainsi qu'en Amérique du Nord et en Afrique quand elle a reçu son diplôme de Physiothérapeute. |
Elle a aussi travaillé en Europe et quelques années plus tard a immigré au Québec ou elle a vécu pendant 5 ans. A présent elle est établie en Argentine, et se sent préoccupée par les situations difficiles de son pays d'origine, ou elle aide une école rurale.
Elle invite également des groupes de personnes à visiter l'Argentine avec The Explorers, en promotionnant les échanges culturels tout en créant des projets avec des impacts positifs pour l'Argentine.
